ITF World Tennis Tour Player of the Month: Jaime Faria
Portugal’s Jaime Faria has been named ITF World Tennis Tour Player of the Month for March after lifting silverware at three successive events.
The 20-year-old topped the podium at M25 Faro, M25 Quinta Do Lago and M25 Vale do Lobo to make it four consecutive title-wins following his triumph at M25 Vila Real de Santo Antonio in February.
During March, Faria lost just one of 14 matches, which came at his most recent tournament at M25 Loule, with those 13 victories forming part of a 20-match winning streak which has ignited his season.
In the last few weeks, Faria has jumped more than 120 places to a career-high No. 262 in the ATP Rankings.

There was plenty of competition for the tag of March’s Player of the Month with three other players – Czechia’s Jakub Nicod, Filip Cristian Jianu of Romania and Norway’s Malene Helgo – also winning three titles.
Any of those players would have been worthy winners of the Player of the Month accolade, but Faria edges it on account of his titles being won at a slightly higher level – all three were M25s – across the board.
With four to his name – all of which have been won on hard courts in Portugal – Faria jointly leads the men’s ITF World Tennis Tour for singles titles won in 2024. The other three men are Nicod, Jianu and Kazakhstan's Dmitry Popko.
It will be interesting to see how the next few weeks and months unfold for an in-form player who is quite clearly hungry for success.
