Sand Series Tour Finals to be held in Saudi Arabia in 2026

22 Dec 2025

History will soon be made in the world of beach tennis when the 2026 ITF Beach Tennis Sand Series Tour Finals take place at Al Ruwais Beach, Jeddah, marking the first time the prestigious tournament is held in Saudi Arabia.

Running from 26 November to 5 December 2026, the ITF Beach Tennis Sand Series Tour Finals will be staged in a collaboration between the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Saudi Tennis Federation (STF).

The prize money for the event will increase from $125,000 to $150,000 in 2026.

Following the successful combined format introduced in 2025, the Sand Series Tour Finals and the ITF Beach Tennis New Wave event will once again be staged together.

The Tour Finals will feature the top eight men’s and women’s doubles teams, based on the ITF Sand Series Tour Final Race Rankings. Teams earn points from their results across all BT400 tournaments, Sand Series events, and the ITF Beach Tennis World Championships, with each team’s best ten results counting toward their total. These aggregated points determine the highest-ranked pairs that qualify for the Finals.

The ITF Beach Tennis New Wave will run alongside the main draw. Following its invitational debut in 2025, the New Wave will have a separate qualification system, which will be announced in early 2026. The event highlights emerging talent, featuring the leading players aged 17-20, selected based on their Men’s / Women’s rankings and 18&U Boys’ / Girls’ rankings.

There will also be a Mixed Doubles exhibition event, featuring professional beach tennis players and offering prize money of $35,000. It will mark the first time a professional mixed doubles beach tennis event has been held in Saudi Arabia.

The arrival of the ITF Beach Tennis Sand Series Tour Finals further cements Saudi Arabia’s position as a global hub for tennis. It adds to an impressive portfolio of prestigious events that includes the WTA Finals presented by PIF and the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF. From 2028, the Kingdom will also begin hosting a new ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

Mohammed Alsarah, President of the Saudi Tennis Federation, said: “We are proud to host the ITF Beach Tennis Sand Series Tour Finals in Jeddah, a milestone that reflects the Saudi Tennis Federation’s commitment to expanding and developing all forms of tennis across the Kingdom. Bringing this international event to our shores aligns with our vision to elevate the sport, inspire our youth, and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a global destination for world-class sporting events.”

Matt Byford, ITF Executive Director, Beach Tennis, said: “We would like to thank the Saudi Tennis Federation for their support in bringing the Sand Series Tour Finals to Jeddah. Hosting this event in Saudi Arabia provides an important platform to grow beach tennis internationally, showcase the top teams, and inspire the next generation of players. We look forward to working with the STF to deliver a high-quality competition and further develop the sport in the region."
