Italy returns to defend crown at ITF Beach Tennis World Cup 2025

Italy head to Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, from 9-14 December aiming to defend both their professional and 18 & Under crowns at the ITF Beach Tennis World Cup 2025.

The Beach Tennis World Cup is a mixed competition in which nations compete as teams. Each team is comprised of two men and two women, with ties decided across men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

A total of 27 teams from 17 nations will take part. Professional teams include Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Estonia, France, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Thailand and the USA. Junior teams competing are Aruba, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, Estonia, France, Italy, Portugal and Puerto Rico.

Italy enters 2025 in strong form after a 2- 0 victory over Spain in the last completed final, claiming their sixth World Cup title following wins in 2012, 2014 -15, 2017 and 2022.

They also reached the 2023 final against Brazil, but extreme weather left the tie at 1-1 with no champion crowned.

The junior event, introduced in 2015, continues to showcase the sport’s rising stars.
