Romania’s Marius Copil scored his first title in six years after defeating Alexey Vatutin 7-5 6-2 in the final at M25 Portimao
Copil, 31, had recently been part of the Romanian team that fell to Spain in the Davis Cup by Rakuten Qualifiers and the experience of competing against the likes of Roberto Bautista Agut and Carlos Alcaraz clearly worked in his favour as he strung together his best run of wins since winning at the Budapest Challenger in 2016.
