Canada and the United States are the first nations to reach the 2026 ITF World Junior Tennis Finals after their boys’ and girls’ teams successfully navigated final qualifying.

Final qualifying for the ITF’s international team competition for players aged 14-and-under in the North/Central America and Caribbean region took place in Montreal, Canada. Across the boys’ and girls’ competitions, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Mexico also competed.

But it is Canada and the United States who advance to the Finals, which will take place in the Czech city of Prostejov – the home of the Finals since 1999 – from 3-8 August. There they will join Czechia, who qualify automatically as hosts.

Qualification in four remaining regions – Asia/Oceania, Europe, Africa and South America v is underway but still to be concluded.

A total of 16 boys’ and 16 girls’ teams will contest the Finals and compete for the title of champions, just as professional players do in Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge and Davis Cup.

ITF World Junior Tennis is a real festival of junior tennis and a major developmental step for players as they continue their progression along the player pathway, hopefully one day to the sport’s elite level.

Indeed, many of today’s top players honed their skills at this event, going on to represent their nations at senior level, as well as earning individual honours at the Grand Slams and at Tour level.

Check out the names below. All of these players have contested the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals, reflecting the importance of this competition:

Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Bianca Andreescu, Lorenzo Musetti, Katerina Siniakova, Juan Martin del Potro, Marketa Vondrousova, Alex de Minaur, Ash Barty, Felix Auger Aliassime, Frances Tiafoe, Linda Noskova, Mirra Andreeva, Elina Svitolina and Amanda Anisimova.

France were crowned ITF World Junior Tennis boys’ champions in 2025 for the first time in 20 years, while the United States girls’ team claimed their eighth title. This places them joint-top of the all-time list of winners alongside Czechia and Russia.

Re-cap the 2025 Finals.
