Fett fuels Top 100 charge with biggest win since 2015 at W75 Split
Croatia’s Jana Fett claimed her biggest title since 2015 after conquering all before her and lifting ITF World Tennis Tour silverware on home soil at W75 Split.
It was the 27-year-old’s first success of the season having last topped a podium at W25 Vigo in August 2023. She reached two singles finals and a semi-final on the ITF World Tennis Tour in the intervening period.
In triumphing at W75 Split, Zagreb-born Fett dropped just a solitary set – during her quarter-final showdown with Slovenia’s Veronika Erjavec – as she played with poise and determination. Fett defeated Turkiye's Ipek Oz 6-0 6-4 in the final.

In total, she lost just 24 games in five matches and sealed her first clay-court title since 2014 – a win which sees her jump 24 places to No. 147 in the WTA Rankings.
“No better feeling than winning a title in your home country,” Fett wrote on Instagram. “Big thank you to my team, wouldn’t be here without them. Thank you Split for a great week.”
Fett achieved a career-high WTA Ranking of No. 97 in October 2017, so while she remains short of this milestone, the ITF World Tennis Tour is fuelling her drive towards the Top 100. Her current ranking is also her highest since September 2018.
Elsewhere, Raluca Georgiana Serban entered last week as the only Cypriot woman to have won an ITF World Tennis Tour event over and above W15 level – the entry level for the Tour.
Her victory at W75 Florianopolis was noteworthy as it delivered a national first as Serban became the first Cypriot to lift W75 silverware, while her career-best title was also her first win since 2022.
The 26-year-old was in imposing form and navigated the week without dropping a set, dispatching all opponents on her way to the final where she defeated France's Selena Janicijevic 7-5 6-2.
Serban, who now has 14 ITF World Tennis Tour titles to her name, has risen 26 places to No. 180 in the WTA Rankings following her latest triumph – 28 places shy of her career-best achieved in July 2023.
