Echargui continues sensational season in Monastir

12 Aug 2025

It has been a remarkable year for Tunisia's Moez Echargui, who has made winning a habit on the ITF World Tennis Tour and recently the Challenger Tour.

Heading into this year, the 32 year-old had won eight titles in his professional career - with just one at M25 level back in 2022.

As of August 2025, he has added a further seven titles to his collection this season alone, bringing his total up to 15.

He kicked off the season well, and by the start of June he had already claimed his third title at M15 Monastir - but this was just the beginning of his electric form.

After this, he claimed back-to-back titles at M25 Monastir and won 17 matches in a row.

Despite a brilliant June, it would not be until the start of August where the crowning moment of Echargui's career took place.

He entered qualifying at the Porto 1 Challenger 100 - which he breezed through without dropping a set.

From then on, the left-hander was unstoppable all week and he surged to his first ever Challenger title with a 6-3 6-2 win in the final over Francesco Maestrelli.

After the biggest title of his career, Echargui went straight back to work and picked up his sixth World Tennis Tour title of the season last weekend at M25 Monastir.

He is now the leading title-winner on the World Tennis Tour this year for men, and is tied with Janice Tjen for the tour as a whole.

With 12 straight wins across all levels, he is in the form of his life and his confidence will undoubtedly be sky-high right now.

Echargui finds himself ranked at a career-high of world No. 211, which will likely continue to go up if he keeps displaying this kind of form for the rest of 2025.
