Djokovic dreams of Olympic gold
There isn't much that Novak Djokovic hasn't won in the world of tennis. The Serbian superstar is a 16-time Grand Slam winner, Davis Cup champion, has spent 271 weeks at world No. 1 and is a six-time ITF World Champion to name but just some of his achievements.
But his best result at an Olympic Tennis Event came way back in 2008 when he finished with a bronze medal around his neck in the men's singles in Beijing.
In this exclusive interview at the 2019 Davis Cup by Rakuten Madrid Finals, Djokovic says that to win gold would be "one of the dreams". He explains that he always finds an extra motivation when playing for his country and goes on to say that he doesn't want to be ungrateful for winning bronze.
Djokovic looks back on his experiences at previous Games, recalling the times that he stayed in the Olympic Village during Beijing 2008 and Rio 2016 as opportunities to share knowledge with fellow athletes.
The Serbian is excited about the prospect of the Olympic Games taking place in Tokyo - a city he describes as one of the most technologically advanced - adding: "I'm sure the Olympic Games are going to be a great success there and I'm sure it's going to be an amazing show."
