Aruba Open prize money increased to record $125,000
The Aruba Open, an ITF Beach Tennis World Tour Sand Series event, has announced that the player prize fund for the 2025 edition will be a record-breaking $125,000 (USD).
The event, which has been running since 2008 (Aruba International) and part of the ITF Beach Tennis World Tour since 2011, upgrading to Sand Series status in 2024, will pay $100,000 across the men’s and women’s doubles events, and is the fourth Sand Series event in 2025 to pay a six-figure prize fund to players in the two main events.
Additionally, a mixed doubles event with a $10,000 prize fund will take place this year, the first time that mixed doubles has been an ITF-sanctioned part of the schedule at the Aruba Open. A further $15,000 in player compensation is available for team competitions and singles events, bringing the total fund to $125,000.
The Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championships will take place from 9 to 16 November at Bushiri Beach, Aruba and is held in partnership with the Aruba Tourism Authority.
The tournament occupies an important place in the ITF Beach Tennis World Tour calendar – it is the last Sand Series event of the 2025 season and represents the last chance for teams to qualify for the Sand Series Tour Finals, which will be held in Brasilia, Brazil from 29 November to 6 December.
Iain Smith, Head of Beach Tennis at the ITF, said: “Aruba is the largest beach tennis event on the calendar with more than 1500 participants and an array of beach tennis activities across the week, with the pinnacle being the Sand Series event. Aruba is the fourth Sand Series to elevate the prize money to $100,000 for men’s and women’s doubles in 2025. As the last Sand Series prior to the Tour Finals, teams will be competing to secure their spot within the top 8. We would like to thank our colleagues at the Aruba Open for all their hard work in hosting the event, and the Aruba Tourism Authority for their continued support.”
Ronella Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority, said: “The Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championships demonstrate how Aruba continues to elevate the quality of our guest experience while celebrating our island’s authentic character. As the Destination Marketing and Management Organization for Aruba, it is essential for us that tourism brings benefits for both guests and our community. Through events like the Aruba Open, we showcase our culture, hospitality, and love for sport to the world.”
Marc Kiezebrink, Director of Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championships, said: “Hosting the first Sand Series 100 in Aruba with the world’s largest prize purse is a proud moment for our team and for the island. This year reflects how much the Aruba Open has grown — from a beloved local tournament to a global fixture on the tour. We can’t wait to welcome players and fans from around the world to Bushiri Beach.”
