How Advantage All is paving the way for women leaders

09 Mar 2026

From grassroots coaching to ITF governance, the ITF Advantage All Programme is reshaping tennis and creating pathways for women to lead.

Since 2018, it has championed opportunities in leadership, coaching, officiating, and the professional game - building a clear pipeline for future female leaders.

Turning ambition into action

A landmark update to the ITF Constitution guarantees at least five women and men on the ITF Board from 2027, ensuring representation at the sport’s highest level.

Women currently represent 37% of ITF Committees and Commissions and 35.7% of its Senior Leadership Team.

Global Advantage All targets for 2028 aim for a minimum of 40% female leadership in tennis, 30% women coaches, and 40% women officials.

Global progress

28 women are now serving as National Association Presidents, and federations like Tennis Kenya, with seven women and three men on their Board, are showing how national leadership drives systemic change.

Regional Associations are introducing quotas, constitutional reforms, and Gender Equality Committees, embedding change across the sport and strengthening pipelines from national to regional to ITF governance.

For example, Oceania Tennis Federation elected its first female Regional President, Vicki Reid, achieved Board gender parity, and launched programs such as the Pacific Women and Girls Programme and Women Leaders in Tennis.

The journey continues in coaching and officiating, where opportunities are growing. 24.3% of coaches worldwide are women, up from 20.6% in 2019. 32% of officials globally are women, with 28% at entry White Badge level. While officiating pathways evolve for all genders, Advantage All ensures education, recruitment, and development programs help women rise in these roles.

On the professional stage, the journey is equally clear. Equivalent prize money at the Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup Finals, combined with a US$2.5 million investment in women’s tournaments on the World Tennis Tour, ensures equal opportunity, visibility, and value for female players worldwide.

ITF President Dave Haggerty said: "It’s a long journey to gender balance but progress is being made at national and regional levels, and we are proud that at least five women will be part of the ITF Board from 2027. Advantage All is creating pathways for women at every level in our sport, showing how sustained investment and clear strategy can drive lasting change - on and off the court."
