Would you like to know a bit more about Hopman Cup?

Hopman Cup has enjoyed an illustrious history and featured legends of the game such as Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Steffi Graf, John McEnroe, Martina Hingis, Boris Becker, Li Na and Andy Murray.

The event, which was founded in 1989 and spent its first 30 years being staged in the Australian city of Perth, has been missing from the tennis calendar since 2019. However, 2023 marks its glorious return at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club on the French Riviera.

Back in 2019, Serena Williams described the prospect of Hopman Cup no longer being played as “heartbreaking”. Thankfully, the event is back in all its glory.

Why should I follow this year’s Hopman Cup?

Hopman Cup is a tournament that allows players to compete for their nations, play as a team and contest the event, which includes singles and doubles matches, as a mixed team. In short, Hopman Cup offers something most other events do not.

There is also a star-studded cast in Nice headed by Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, the top-ranked man on the planet who only days ago was crowned Wimbledon champion after toppling Novak Djokovic on Centre Court.

The stage is more than set, now let all the action unfold.
