All India Tennis Association partners with World Tennis Number
Launching Indian Tennis on a new digital platform
The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has today announced the launch of a new digital platform for Indian Tennis, providing players, academies, coaches and officials a single online home across web and mobile apps. Phase 1, along with the new AITA website, will be launched on 15 August 2026.
Driven by the efforts of Mr. Sunder Iyer, Secretary General of AITA, the launch marks a major step forward for the sport of tennis in the country by delivering an automation system in line with the latest platforms in the world.
With the launch of the platform, player registration, tournament entries and withdrawals will begin to be handled online, and subsequently automated draws, electronic order of play, results and rankings will follow. This will replace manual processes with faster, transparent and player-focused experiences, available on any phone or computer.
This platform is being launched in partnership with World Tennis Number (WTN), the international rating system developed by the sport's global governing body, World Tennis. The AITA platform will deliver up-to-date Indian National Tennis Rankings alongside the World Tennis Number (WTN) every week, visible to players directly on the platform as they are released.
The launch is only the beginning, marking the start of bringing tennis academies, courts, coaches and player support staff across the nation onto one platform - building a single, connected picture of Indian tennis for the first time.
Ross Hutchins, World Tennis Chief Executive, said: “World Tennis is delighted to support AITA in its announcement today to modernise the administration and delivery of tennis in India, underpinned by the World Tennis Number. By embracing digital solutions for tournament management, they are creating a more connected, efficient and player-focused environment which will connect domestic development in India with World Tennis’s global digital tennis infrastructure. We are proud to support this initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on tennis playing communities across India and globally.”
Mr. Sunder Iyer, Secretary General, All India Tennis Association, said: “Indian tennis deserves a platform that matches the best in the world. For the first time, our players, academies, coaches and officials will be part of one connected system - with entries, draws, results and weekly world rankings all in one place. This is the start of bringing the whole of Indian tennis online. The new face of Indian Tennis for the years to come!”
The platform is being rolled out to players, academies, coaches and officials across the country, with more of the national tennis ecosystem set to be brought online in the months ahead.
