Infront of a capacity crowd of over 600, the opening set of the singles final saw Jones break the Molik serve twice in the first three games to open up a 40 lead. Molik then staged an amazing fight back with some outstanding tennis to stun Jones and take the first set 64.
In the next set, Jones, just as she had in the first, took an early lead before Molik fought back from 24 to level at 44. Several unforced errors then crept into Molik's game as Jones began to apply pressure with some powerful groundstrokes. With swirling conditions it was Sacha who adapted better late in the set to take it 64.
Jones got another early break in the final set and held match points in the eighth game before taking the title with a 46 64 63 win.
