Geraint Richards visits Albania and Serbia
During September Geraint Richards visited Albania and Serbia as an ITF representative as part of the Silver Fund project. In an effort to help develop activities in the Balkan region, both Albania and Serbia have showed significant progress during and after the most recent Silver Fund visits.

During his visit to Albania, Richards was able to train with players at the Albanian Tennis Federation’s Training Facility in Tirana. Players of all ages and abilities were able to benefit from Richards’s input. The project is also being supported by the Albanian Disability Rights Foundation, who have worked on behalf of many of the players for a number of years, promoting human rights for people with disabilities. The eagerness of both the Tennis Federation and the players is highly encouraging and we look forward to visiting again in 2010.

Serbia has a rich tennis pedigree and in the future we hope to see wheelchair tennis develop and follow in the footsteps of its most prestigious stars. With the support of the Serbian Tennis Federation we hope that we can build from this first very successful visit, when all players showed huge enthusiasm and offer the greatest opportunity for their players to participate in wheelchair tennis.
