Invacare World Team Cup Tournament Director
The Tennis Foundation, which will run the 2009 Invcare World Team Cup in Nottingham, England, this summer, in association with the ITF and Invacare Europe, is delighted to announce the appointment of Jeremy Dier as the Tournament Director.

Jeremy brings a wealth of experience to the event having worked on International ATP tour events such as the million dollar ATP Tour Championship Series Event in Battersea Park, London and the Samsung ATP Tour Event, in Brighton. Jeremy was also Head of the Tennis Client Division (Europe and Africa) for IMG - clients included Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Martina Navratilova, Pat Cash, Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe.

Jeremy will be supported by Mary Loughran (Tennis Foundation Head of Events) who has experience of creating high profile and unique events for the LTA, Tennis Foundation and the Cliff Richard Organisation. Mary was Assistant Tournament Director for the 1991 Federation Cup, also held at the City of Nottingham Tennis Centre, which, with 80,0000 people attending, had the largest attendance for a UK tennis tournament, outside of The Championships, Wimbledon

The 2009 Invacare World Team Cup (27 July - 2 August) will immediately follow the British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships, also being staged in Nottingham, and will focus two weeks of world class wheelchair tennis in the Midlands. Becky Drew, Tournament Director for the British Open will be co-ordinating plans with Jeremy so that there is a seamless transfer between the two events, where so many of the competitors will be competing in both tournaments.

Commenting on Jeremy’s appointment, Tennis Foundation Executive Director, Sue Mappin said: "It is a great honour for us to be hosting the Invacare World Team Cup this year and we wanted to ensure that we continue to develop, grow and promote wheelchair tennis in Great Britain. Having the world No.1 rakned Quad player – Peter Norfolk - is inspirational to many of our up-and-coming players and with 2012 just around the corner I wanted to ensure that we brought in the right expertise to run this important event on the wheelchair tennis tour calendar. I am delighted to have secured the services of somebody of Jeremy’s calibre and I look forward to an exceptional event."

Jeremy Dier, newly appointed Tournament Director of the Invacare World Team Cup said:
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to work on this event and to help ensure that the event is given the profile it deserves.

"Participation in wheelchair tennis is growing year on year and the dedication of the players taking part demands that the event is organised and promoted to the highest possible standard."

Mark Bullock, Wheelchair Tennis Manager for the International Tennis Federation said: "The ITF is delighted to have somebody with Jeremy's experience as the Tournament Director for the 2009 Invacare World Team Cup. I am confident that the event will be of the very highest quality."

Franz Krammer, Managing Director, Invacare Europe said: "Invacare is delighted with the new appointment of Mr Jeremy Dier. The experience of Jeremy will help support Invacare’s goal of taking wheelchair tennis to new levels of success. We wish him the best of luck!"
