Both top seeded pairings were victorious in Saturday's Men's and Women's Doubles finals at the US Open Wheelchair Tennis Competition at Flushing Meadows.

After coming within a game of defeat in their semi-final on Saturday top seeds and defending champions Robin Ammerlaan (NED) and Michael Jermeiasz (FRA) took a 31 lead early in their final showdown against second seeds Tadeusz Kruszelnicki (POL) and Shingo Kuneida (JPN). However, Kruszelnicki and Kunieda reduced the deficit to force a tie-break.

Nevertheless, Ammerlaan and Jeremiasz asserted themselves in the tie-break before easing away to complete a 76(2) 61 victory and retain their title.

A closely fought all-Dutch Women's final saw the undefeated pairing of Jiske Griffioen and Esther Vergeer assert themselves in the final two games of each set as they closed out a 64 64 win against Korie Homan and Maaike Smit.

The scene is now set for the Men's and Women's Singles finals on Sunday, both of which will take place on Court 11 after the US Open Boys Singles final.

The Boys Singles final begins at 12 Noon local time (5.00pm GMT), after which defending champion Vergeer and Walraven will go head-to-head in the Women's Singles final. This will be followed by the Men's Singles final between defending champion Ammerlaan and Jeremiasz.
