ITF Wheelchair Tennis Manager Mark Bullock was in Uruguay from 15-19 October undertaking a Silver Fund visit to promote and develop the sport in the country. Through the support of the Cruyff Foundation the ITF is able to undertake visits and provide equipment for Uruguay.

The visit was packed with activity, including a coaches workshop attended by former Roland Garros quarterfinalist Marcelo Fillipini, sessions in two rehabilitation centres and visits to a school for disabled people. He also had meetings with the Director of Sports Development in the government and the Alejandra Forlan Foundation.

Bullock, who was hosted throughout his stay by the Uruguay Tennis Association, said: "‘The welcome I received from the Uruguay Tennis Association was excellent and I am confident that through the Association wheelchair tennis has a bright future in Uruguay."

The ITF will undertake a second visit before the end of 2012 to keep the momentum going.
