Match tiebreaks in doubles matches from 2013

The ITF is introducing a new system for the use of tiebreaks in wheelchair tennis doubles matches from 2013.

To give players and tournament organisers clearer guidance on the use of match tiebreaks, the following system will be used:

- Doubles matches at the Paralympic Games, ITF Super Series tournaments and the Doubles Masters will all be the best of three tiebreak sets.

Match tiebreaks shall be used in doubles as follows:

- Format of doubles matches at Grand Slams to be set by each Grand Slam

- BNP Paribas World Team Cup - match tiebreaks in all doubles matches.

- ITF1–ITF Futures tournaments - match tiebreaks in all doubles matches.
