Shingo Kunieda (JPN) and Sharon Walraven (NED) followed last week's Korean Open wins by collecting the honours on Friday at the Daegu Open, part of the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour and the second ITF 2 Series event to be held in Korea in successive weeks.
Second seed Kunieda brought the best three weeks of his career to a highly impressive conclusion with a 60 60 win over compatriot and top seed Satoshi Saida. However, the match was not quite as one-sided as the score suggests, with Kunieda displaying the greater focus to win the important points at the end of some close games, while only comitting two or three unforced errors throughout.
The rematch of the Korea Open Women's Singles final between Sharon Walraven (NED) and Young-Suk Hong (KOR) was somewhat closer than a week ago, but ultimately it was Walraven who had the answers from 44 in the second set, hitting the lines accurately to finalise a 62 64 victory.
Top seeds Kunieda and Saida also had a tougher time in the Men's Main Draw Doubles final than they had at the Korea Open, but still defeated second seeds Ha-Gel Lee (KOR) and Robinson Mendez (CHI) 64 62.
Meanwhile the all-Korean contest in the Women's Doubles final ended with Hong and Myung-Hee Hwang beating Ju-Yeon Park and Woon-Ja sohn 60 62
