A number of junior players have made their mark on the ITF
Wheelchair Tennis rankings in 2003.Jiske Griffoen (NED) had a great year finishing the year No. 17 in the
world. Griffoen was runner up at the Prague Indoor event and the Antwerp
Open.She reached the last 16 in two
Super series events, the British and US Opens.Kaitlyn Verfuerth (USA) had a good year finishing the year No. 20 on
the ranking.One of the new players to
emerge in the women’s game in 2003 was yet another Dutch player Korie Homan.She finished the year at No. 23 having been
unranked in 2002.


Sweden’s Stefan Olsson is the highest ranked junior on the
ITF Wheelchair Tennis men’s ranking. He is No. 123 in the world and played at
No. 1 in the team that one the junior event at the Invacare World Team Cup.Others juniors on the ranking include Laurie
Zalmonowitz (CAN), Michael Esler (NZL), Marek Gergely (SVK), Mike Denayer (BEL)
and Michael Mertel (GER).
