The ITF is pleased to announce that its third International Congress on Tennis Science & Technology will take place in London from 10-12 September 2007.

The 3rd ITF TST Congress aims to provide a unique international forum for scientists, engineers, researchers, manufacturers, coaches and facility designers from around the world who are involved in the sport of tennis.

TST provides the scope for presentations across such diverse areas of sciences as sports science, physics, materials, and facilities.

Papers are invited on four themes:

Equipment: the impact of science and technology on tennis equipment
Court & Facilities: technology as a means of improving the tennis experience
The Game: initiatives to improve the game through new technology
Sports Science: the benefits of sports science to the tennis player.

The deadline for submission of papers is 28 February 2007. Further information on the required format for papers can be accessed here. All papers presented orally at TST will be printed in a book, which will be available at the Congress.

The papers will be peer-reviewed by the TST Scientific Committee. Notification of acceptance of papers will be advised to authors no later than 1st April 2007.

The venue for TST is Parkstead House, Whitelands College in Roehampton, London. Situated on a 14 acre estate overlooking Richmond Park, Parkstead House is a beautifully restored 1760’s Georgian villa offering excellent conference facilities including two state-of-the-art lecture theatres. Overnight accommodation will be available in modern en-suite rooms.

Companies wishing to participate in an exhibition of equipment and services relevant to tennis science that will take place during TST should contact the Congress Secretariat for further details.

Alongside the congress, a varied programme of social events will be arranged, to include a banquet at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, the home of the Wimbledon Championships.
