The ITF Seniors/Super-Seniors World Individual Championships is the most coveted individual event on the ITF Seniors circuit.

Since its inception in 1981, the number of competitors attracted to this event has increased year on year. Rising from four age categories to fifteen by 1993, with more than 700 competitors, the ITF took the decision to divide the Seniors World Championships into two groups, Seniors for the younger veterans and Super-Seniors for the older players.

Today the tournament caters for a range of twenty age categories for both Singles and Doubles, boasting record entries of over 1000 players.

The Seniors (35-55) and Super-Seniors (60-85 for men, and 80 for women) World Individual Championships are held yearly in countries all over the world. South Africa, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the United States have each taken their turn to host the Seniors and Super-Seniors World Championships in their region welcoming hundreds of Seniors players to their clubs.
