The adidas Bol Senios Open took place for the eighth time on the island of Brac, Croatia. A lot of tennis players have the event marked in their schedules and some of them celebrated their 8th participation. Despite the intimate and familial atmosphere, the ITF-Grade 2-Event became a little more international this year and the number of participants has grown steadily throughout the years. A new record of over 400 players took part. Players from The United States, Canada, Costa Rica, South Africa and even Australia travelled to Croatia to be part of the tournament.

Highlights from some of the events include:

Womens 45:
Natalia Harina-Beckmann (GER) [1], currently ranked no. 7 in the world, showed a strong performance in the tournament and lost only one game on her way to the final. Her opponent was unseeded player Bridget Laird from Australia. In the semi-final she won 62 46 60 against second seeded Monika Rajska (POL). But she had no chances against the German player in the final with Harina-Beckmann won 61 60.

Womens 55:
Two German ladies from last year’s final met again in 2013. Gundula Wieland [1], currently ranked no. 5 in the world and tournament director Sabine Schmitz [2], no. 8 in the world ranking list played on court 1. The winner was Sabine Schmitz, claiming the title 64 60.

Mens 40:
Ivan Herz (SVK) [1] was defeated by Kresimir Ritz in 2012 in an exciting tree set match in the men's 35. This year Herz played in the men's 40 for the first time and won the final against Sorin Donescu (ROU) [2] 62 60 in Croatia. Ritz once again claimed the men's 35, thus, the two finalists of last year both celebrated tournament victories in Bol.

Mens 70:
The final was played between two participants from Hungaria for the first time. Levente Bakonyi [1], currently no. 9 in the world won against Zoltan Fabian [2] in straight sets 62 60 on the Centre Court.
