MADRID, SPAIN: In Sunday's final, Nuria Parrizas Diaz made a successful defence of her title with a three set win over Swiss player Rebeka Masarova.

The Spaniard took the opening set 64 before Masarova drew level with a 64 win of her own in the second set. In the decisive third set, the Swiss player opened up a 2-0 lead but Parrizas Diaz fought back to reel off six games in succession to take the set 62 and with it a third title of 2017.

This event, which featured a prize money increase on 2016 from $10,000 to $15,000, also saw the British duo Alicia Barnett and Olivia Nicholls triumph in the doubles event for a first title in what was their first outting together as a partnership.
