$10,000 Budapest - presentation after doubles final
Budapest, capital city of Hungary and venue for a recent $10,000 tournament on the ITF Women’s Circuit, saw 18-year old Irina-Camelia Begu triumph in both the singles and doubles events for the second week running.
In an all-Romanian singles final between two players who are also doubles partners, second seed Begu’s 75 61 victory over top seed Laura-Iona Andrei gave her back-to-back singles titles having already tasted success the previous week in Brasov, where she was also the 2007 champion.
The doubles event saw Begu and Andrei team up, and as number one seeds claim the title with a straight sets 62 64 win over second seeds Davinia Lobbinger and Efrat Mishor. This victory, in what was their fourth career final together, completed a hat trick of doubles titles for the Romanians over the past three weeks.
