$100,000 Tokyo - Chan & Morita in action during doubles final
At the Ariake Tennis Stadium, venue for the Rakuten Open 2009, a $100,000+H tournament on the ITF Pro Circuit, Ayumi Morita and Yung-Jan Chan, playing together for the first time since Roland Garros Junior Grand Slam in 2006 won the doubles title by defeating Kimiko Date-Krumm and Rika Fujiwara 6-2,6-4.
At a press conference following their victory Ayumi Morita told those in attendance “I am very happy for this victory for there is a great difference between winners and runners-up. Since I lost singles in the second Round, this doubles victory makes me feel better and confident. I am now very much appreciated for this doubles participation."
