COSTA MESA, CA. USA: Southern California will be well represented this week at the ITF Pro Circuit tournament taking place in Costa Mesa with three local tennis players among the eight qualifiers and with four appearing in the doubles event.
Top seed in qualifing Nicolas Meister, of Trabuco Canyon, won in straight sets to advance to the main draw as did his fellow seeds Jason Jung, the No. 2 seed, of Torrance, and the seventh seed Daniel Nguyen, of Oxnard.
They join the 21-year-old defending champion Daniel Kosakowski, of Downey, currently ranked 260 in the world, and Poway native Bradley Klahn, currently ranked 226.
