The semifinals line up is now complete in the former Kazakhstan capital of Almaty where a men’s Futures event is taking place on the ITF Pro Circuit this week.
An all-Kazakhstan final is still on the cards with one representative in each match.
The top half of the draw sees Kazakhstan Wild Card entrant Alexey Kedryuk, who, at 31, is the oldest player left in the draw, face 19-year-old sixth seed Alexey Vatutin from Russia. A teenager is assured of a place in the final as the winner of this match will come up against either 18-year-old fifth seed Denis Yeveyev from Kazakhstan or the unseeded Belarusian Egor Gerasimov, 19, who eliminated the second seed in the previous round.
Semifinal matches are scheduled to begin at 11am, local time, with the Yevseyev vs Gerasimov clash first up. Also taking place on Friday, but not before 2pm, is the doubles final.
Singles semifinalist Egor Gerasimov also features in this final. Seeded fourth with Russian partner Andrei Levine he will looking to pick up a first ITF Pro Circuit title of his career with victory over the top seeds, the Russian duo of Vitaliy Kachanovskiy & Alexander Pavlioutchenkov.
