SUNRISE, FL, USA: A regular in singles finals on the ITF Junior Circuit where he finished 2016 as the world champion, 17-year-old Miomir Kecmanovic claimed his first ITF Pro Circuit singles title at the weekend. The 2016 Junior US Open runner-up triumphed in Florida with a convincing 62 62 defeat of Swedish fifth seed Christian Lindell in the title match having dropped only one set all week including four rounds of action in the qualifying event.

Kecmanovic scored impressive wins throughout the maindraw week including a quarterfinal victory over Filip Peliwo, the Canadian who in 2012 reached all four Junior Grand Slam singles finals claiming the title at Wimbledon and the US Open and one of Kecmanovic’s predecessors as a junior world champion.

Having secured his first pro singles title the young Serbian with eyes on one day becoming the ATP world number one and emulating his fellow countryman Novak Djokovic is set to continue with ITF Pro Circuit action in Florida through to the end of February.
