BRA F4 - Ricardo Hocevar with champions trophy

In Recife, Brazil, No. 1 seed Ricardo Hocevar defeated his fellow Brazilian and third seed Rafael Camilo 63 64 to claim his first singles title on the ITF Pro Circuit since June 2008. This was only the second meeting between the two players with their only previous encounter ending abruptly in Sorocaba, Brazil back in 2007 when Camilo retired from their match having lost the opening three games of the first set.

Hocevar, who at 25 was five years older than his opponent, said: "I'll always remember Recife because this was where I scored my first point in the ATP Rankings, where I began my career as a professional. I could play the Australian Open qualifying but preferred to come to the Northeast of Brazil, to gain match fitness. [To] win a title again was even more important".

The doubles event saw the Peruvian/Brazilian partnership of Ivan Miranda & Caio Zampieri defeat the Brazilian pair Fabiano de Paula & Marcelo Demoliner 64 57 [10-3].
