26 players ranked within the ATP Top 300 (as at entry deadline rank date of 7 May 2012) are scheduled to see singles action on the courts of the ITF Pro Circuit tournaments during the week commencing 28 May 2012.
The Italian event taking place in Cesena - for the seventh successive year - fields entries from the majority of these highly ranked players with 17 of the 18 players currently on the main draw list all ranked in the Top 300. The only player outside of this is not far off, ranked at 302, so fans lucky enough to attend this event are sure to be in for some high quality competitive tennis throughout the week!
Leading the entrants list in Italy are three Top 200 ranked players; 153 Martin Alund (Argentina); 154 Andreas Haider-Maurer (Austria) and 198 Nikola Ciric (Serbia), who was top seed and a beaten semifinalist in 2011.
None of the entrants have won a singles title in Cesena, the closest was Farrukh Dustov from Uzbekistan who was runner-up in the first tournament held here back in 2004, so a new champion is assured. But who will it be? Share your thoughts on our Facebook and Twitter pages!
