GER F9 - presentation ceremony
A perfect week of tennis ended with a great final on Saturday played before 250 spectators. Grigor Dimitrov, 19, took the singles title of the ITF Pro Circuit Futures tournament held in Trier, Germany with victory over David Goffin in three sets. Dimitrov, seeded at No. 1, came with his coach Peter McNamara to Trier, the oldest city of Germany which features many Roman buildings.
The 2008 Junior No. 1 reached his first match point after 1hr 45min but David Goffin, also 19 years old, would go on to win two more games before the Umpire, Mike Leicher, announced "Game, set and match Dimitrov, 46 61 64 and bring an end to this final after almost 2hrs.
Goffin did however taste success here in Germany as with partner Alexandre Folie, a fellow Belgian, he won the doubles title in three sets.
