Bolender & Capra win 1st doubles title

Sumter - Doubles Finalists

Americans, Brooke Bolender & Beatrice Capra won their first ITF Pro Circuit title with a 26 62 [10-6] defeat of Bo Verhulsdonk & Anna Lubinsky in the doubles final of the Palmetto Pro Open in Sumter, SC, USA.

Palmetto Tennis Centre, which was hosting its first ever ITF Pro Circuit tournament concluded with the singles final which was contested between two players making their first appearance in an ITF Pro Circuit final. The singles title was won by unseeded Mallory Cecil from South Carolina in three sets over 8th seed Theresa Logar, 36 76(6) 64.

Also, it is worth mentioning that a singles quarter final clash between 15-year old Sloane Stephens and 16-year old Gabriela Paz lasted an incredible 4 hours 44 minutes, with Sloane eventually emerging victorious 64 67(5) 76(7).
