Transition Tour 2019

In March 2017, the ITF announced reforms to entry-level professional tennis including the introduction in 2019 of a transition tour.

The aims of the reforms are to provide a clearer and more effective pathway from the Junior Circuit to the Pro Circuit and to ensure that prize money at ITF Pro Circuit tournaments is better targeted to potentially enable more players to make a living from the professional game.

The video below is the first in a series of up to four videos over the next 12 months to provide more information about the transition tour. This first video (with English and Spanish versions) explains why these reforms are being introduced and outlines some of the anticipated features of the transition tour and Pro Circuit in 2019.

The ITF’s work into areas such as how the transition tour’s proposed entry point system will work and how the 2019 tournament calendar will be structured is ongoing and subsequent communications will provide more details.

This page will shortly contain answers to frequently asked questions about the reforms and the transition tour. For additional queries or comments, or questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us at transitiontour@itftennis.com
