The ITF made agreements with the ATP and WTA to ensure that players competing in the Olympic Tennis Event gain points towards their individual singles ranking. London 2012 will be the fourth successive Olympics at which players earn ranking points.
The ATP and WTA rankings, as of 11 June 2012, were used to determine the Direct Acceptances into the singles, doubles and mixed doubles events. Visit the Qualification page for more details.
Men
The ITF/ATP ranking points agreement was announced on 1 June 2011. The breakdown of points on offer is listed below, along with quotes from Francesco Ricci Bitti and Adam Helfant.

Francesco Ricci Bitti, ITF President, said: “The support of the ATP in finalising the agreement has ensured that as many of the top male players as possible are able to compete at the Olympic Tennis Event.
