| One Year Countdown event for Singapore 2010 |
On 14 August 2009, the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee will be organising a One Year Countdown event to commemorate 365 days to the first Youth Olympic Games.
Singapore will be hosting the first-ever Youth Olympic Games on 14-26 August 2010. It will receive around 5,000 athletes and officials from the 205 National Olympic Committees, along with estimated 800 media representatives, 20,000 local and international volunteers, and more than 500,000 spectators. Athletes aged between 14 and 18 years will compete in 26 sports and take part in a Culture and Education Programme.
The Youth Olympic Tennis Competition will take place at Kallang Tennis Centre on 15-21 August 2010. There will be 32 players in both boys' and girls' singles competitions, and 16 doubles pairs.
