Stephane Houdet, Diede de Groot and Bryan Barten clinched the men’s, women’s and quad singles titles as the inaugural Georgia Open, the newest ITF 1 Series event on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, drew to a close on Sunday in Rome, USA.

The day after world No. 8 Barten stunned world No. 1 David Wagner to win Saturday’s all-American quad singles final 64 62, third seed Houdet claimed his first men’s singles title since last September’s ITF 1 Sardinia Open.

The world No. 4 ranked Frenchman beat world No. 2 Gustavo Fernandez 62 62 for his third victory over the Argentinian on American soil since September.

Houdet completed the tournament as singles and doubles champion after partnering Nicolas Peifer to beat second seeds Joachim Gerard and Maikel Scheffers 61 76(7) in the men’s doubles final, the top seeds making it four titles in five events so far in 2018.

De Groot could become women’s singles world No. 1 for the first time if she wins next week’s Cajun Classic, which starts in Baton Rouge on Tuesday. The Georgia Open top seed warmed up for the next Super Series event on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour with a 64 62 victory over fellow Dutchwoman and second seed Aniek van Koot.

De Groot also finished the tournament with singles and doubles titles. Second seeds de Groot and Lucy Shuker fought back from the verge of defeat to beat the all-Dutch top-seeded partnership of Marjolein Buis and van Koot 26 76(2) (10-5) after a deciding match tiebreak.

Barten won the first title of the week, earning his first career win over Wagner in 28 career meetings between the two Americans. Barten and Wagner later paired up to secure the quad doubles title, beating Brazil's Ymanitu Silva and Lucas Sithole of South Africa 62 75.
