Many of the leading lights of the ITF Beach Tennis Tour are set to head to the Indian Ocean territory of Reunion on 15-17 December to take part in the Trophée SBTC.

The event, which at $15,000+H is the highest-paying tournament remaining in the 2017 calendar, always attracts a host of the top names from the tour, all of whom will be looking to finish their seasons on a positive note.

Should the action prove as entertaining as the 2016 event, the fans in Saint Pierre, the town at the south end of the island where the action will take place, will once again be in for a treat.

In the men's final, the top-seeded Russian-Italian pairing of Nikita Burmakin and Tommaso Giovannini came from a set down to defeat second seeds Regis Courtois, of France, and Ivan Syrov, of Russia.

Burmakin and Giovannini will lead the pack once again at the top seeded team in the men's draw for this year's event whilst Syrov and Greek Ioannis Dimopoulos are seeded fourth.

In the women's draw, the home favourites and top seeds, the Hoarau twins - Mathilde and Marie-Eve - could not secure a dream victory as they fell to No. 3 seeds Magalie Garnier and Liudmila Nikoyan. Garnier and Nikoyan went on to defeat Brazilians Samantha Barijan and Marcela Vita in a three-set final.

The Hoarau sisters, seeded second, return ready for action at this year's event, whilst Garnier is seeded top with a new partner by her side, No. 7 ranked Maraike Biglmaier of Germany.

Many of the players are also set to take part in the $2,500 tournament taking place on 8-10 December on the same island, one week prior to the high-prize money tournament.

There are few better places to finish the season than in an Indian Ocean paradise - and for the members of the tour who will travel to Reunion, a victory to end the season may make all the difference ahead of the 2018 campaign.
