The court installed for the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group play-off tie between Colombia and Croatia in September has obtained an ITF Recognition award.

The court, located in the Plaza de Toros La Santamaria in Bogotá, has been awarded One-Star ITF Recognition. This award is an independent acknowledgement of the quality of installation, achieved by demonstrating that a court has met the ITF recommendations for evenness, slope, planarity and dimensions.

The court was installed by Civideportes S.A.S, based in Bogotá, Colombia, who have 50 years of experience specialising in the construction of sport facilities. Previous tennis court installations include the court for the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Play-off between Colombia and USA in September 2010. Wilson Perez, General Manager of Civideportes S.A.S said: “With more than 3,000 tennis courts built in the South America region, we aim to venture into global construction. We are delighted to achieve an ITF Recognition award to demonstrate the quality of our work.”

With 104 courts from 27 venues currently ITF Recognised, the programme is continuing to grow worldwide, providing a range of benefits to manufacturers, installers and end-users.
