Ekaterine Gorgodze, 25, won her first singles title in almost a year with an impressive display at a $15,000 tournament in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Georgina Fed Cup player eased through the rounds and took the title with a comfortable 62 61 win in the final over American Sanaz Marand to add to her doubles triumph the previous day with fellow Georgian Mariam Bolkvadze.

Gorgodze then returned to Georgia where a second $15,000 tournament title was won, again in an impressive manner, recording a 62 60 win over Belgian Margaux Bovy in the final having not dropped a set all week in Telavi, just as she had in her run to the title in Istanbul.  This made up for the disappointment of a close loss a couple of days earlier in the doubles final where she was again partnered by Bolkvadze.

A step up in tournament level to a $60,000 tournament brought her month to a close. This tournament saw her back in Turkey where she competed in Bursa but bowed out in the second round in three sets.
