Marjolein Buis and Lucy Shuker will both bid to complete a title double on Saturday’s last day of the 12th Trofeo della Mole, part of the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, after joining forces to win the women’s doubles on Friday at the ITF 2 Series event in Turin.

Previous champions Joachim Gerard and Maikel Scheffers will meet in the men’s singles final after Gerard missed out on the men’s doubles title, which went to the first-time partnership of Alfie Hewett and Ricky Molier.

Top seeds Buis and Shuker, the 2013 South African Open Super Series champions, won their second doubles title as a partnership after securing a comfortable 61 60 win over third seeds Christine Schoenn of France and Dutchwomen Mieke van Chastelet.

Earlier in the day world No. 6 Buis dominated her first ever match against American third seed Emmy Kaiser to book her place in the women’s singles final 61 63. The 2011 runner-up will meet world No. 10 and second seed Shuker for the title this year after Shuker’s 62 61 victory over 2010 and 2012 runner-up Marianna Lauro of Italy.

The combination of current world No.1 ranked junior Hewett and former world No. 1 and 1996 Paralympic men’s singles gold medallist Molier completed a winning debut as a partnership. The second seeds powered to a 61 60 victory over Belgian top seeds Mike Denayer and Gerard.

Gerard’s own bid for a brace of titles had progressed well earlier in the day after the defending champion and top seed earned a 64 60 win over British fourth seed David Phillipson. The world No. 5 meets world No. 6 Scheffers for the title after the Dutchman, the champion in Turin in 2008 and 2011, overcame Australian third seed Adam Kellerman 61 64 in the other semifinal.
