MINSK, BELARUS:  French teenager Chloe Paquet has claimed her first ITF Pro Circuit title with victory in the singles final in Minsk.

Less than a month before turning 20, Paquet’s debut title triumph comes after having fallen at the semifinal stage twice earlier this year and also marked her first appearance in a singles final on the Circuit.

The sixth seed denied the watching crowd a home champion with a defeat of local resident and fourth seed Lidziya Marozava for her fourth successive victory over a home grown player.

A win for Marozava would have seen her add to the doubles title won the previous day with partner Sviatlana Pirazhenka but, with a 62 64 win, it was Paquet who was celebrating at the end.
