The French Tennis Federation (FFT), African Tennis Confederation (CAT) and Tennis Europe (TE), represented by their presidents Jean Gachassin, Tarak Cherif and Jacques Dupré, signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday 4 June at Roland Garros.
The main aim of this agreement is to improve the development of tennis in Africa and in Europe, using the human resources and savoir-faire of the FFT. The FFT will look to share their knowledge on the training of coaches, referees and much more.
Another part of the agreement, in the spirit of long-term cooperation and after friendly discussion, will see the FFT help its counterparts by setting up partnerships with French training centres. These partnerships will allow a few players, selected by CAT and Tennis Europe, to train at the centres.
Finally, the FFT, in its constant promotion of clay, will put their knowledge of the construction and upkeep of clay courts at the disposal of the CAT and Tennis Europe.
