Development Programme Annual Report
The 2013 Development Programme Annual Report is now available to read online. The report contains information on the projects supported by the ITF and the Grand Slam Development Fund over the last 12 months.
The Development Programme is jointly funded by the International Tennis Federation and the Grand Slam tournaments (via the Grand Slam Development Fund). The Fund was originally established in 1986 after The Championships at Wimbledon donated money from their event to development and shortly afterwards the other three Grand Slams joined. The purpose of the Fund is to encourage and increase competitive opportunities in less developed tennis regions.
In 2013, $4.44million was spent on development projects throughout the world, with $2.47million being provided by the ITF and $1.63million by the Grand Slam nations. In addition, income of $335,619 was also provided by Olympic Solidarity (OS) and other sources for development projects.
