Iran hosts a Level 1 Course

Level 1 course participants - Tehran, Iran

From the series of ITF Coach Education programmes in West Asia and as part of Iran Tennis Federation's coach education calendar, the ITF/IRITF "Coaching Beginner and Intermediate Tennis Players' Course" took place at AC-Iran Sport School in Tehran.

ITF expert and Development Officer for West Asia, Amir Borghei, conducted the course from 12 to 22 April and twenty-two coaches from ten different provinces took part.

Becoming familiar with the ITF Development programmes such as JTI, Play and Stay Campaign and Tennis 10s, as well as the ins and outs of the progressive teaching stages of Red, Orange and Green, formed parts of the three day Play Tennis section, whereas the concept of Game Based Approach-GBA, tactics, physical conditioning, mental side of tennis, familiarisation with organisation of group and individual practice, lessons’ progressions, etc, were among parts of the main section of the course.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr Ali Dadgar (President and owner of the hosting sports school) and Majid Shayesteh (IRITF President) who made a brief speech on the improvements the IRITF had made in the area of developing a well structured Coach Education system in recent years by implementing the ITF recommended program.

Miss Beheshteh Dadgar worked as course coordinator and contributed a lot towards the successful outcome of the course.
