Kazakhstan claimed first place at the Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Asia/Oceania Pre-Qualifying event in Kuching, Malaysia. The top seeds made light work of their final round robin tie, sweeping aside second seeds Sri Lanka to secure first place.

The top seeds, along with Sri Lanka, were already guaranteed a place at the Final Qualifying event, but went on to confirm their dominance with an emphatic 3-0 win over the second seeds, without the loss of a set.

Kazakhstan also claimed first place in the ITF World Junior Tennis boys' event with a 3-0 win over Lebanon in Friday's final. With two spots available at the final qualifying event in New Delhi, India, both teams will qualify.

Third place went to second seeds Syria, who fought back after a loss in the first singles rubber to claim a 2-1 win over Turkmenistan. Syria's Mohamad Hazem Naw raced to a 60 60 victory over Karim Arslan Orashev in just 49 minutes.

The battle for first place in the ITF World Junior Tennis girls' event was a closely fought affair with two of the three rubbers going the distance.

Kyrgyzstan's Ermeka Nurgazieva got the third seeds off to a good start with a 62 53 win over Maxine Ng (SIN). Charmaine Seah (SIN) was then forced to battle from a set down against Eliza Akarova (KYG), eventually prevailing 36 64 62 to draw the tie at one rubber a piece.

Nurgazieva and Akarova then combined forces to seal victory for the third seeds with a 63 57 61 win over Charmaine Seah and Ashley Yim (SIN).  Both teams advance to the final qualifying event in India.

Play continues tomorrow in the ITF World Junior Tennis events as the remaining teams battle it out for fifth to tenth place in the boys' event and fifth to seventh place in the girls' event. Action also starts tomorrow in the Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas where thirteen teams will compete for the two available spots at the final qualifying event in Kuching on 28 April-3 May.
