The 2014 ITF Beach Tennis World Championships will be staged in Cervia, Italy on 1-3 August, the ITF announced today.

The sixth edition of the Championships will take place across 20 match courts at Bagno Delfino on the Cervia coast.

The event will again welcome the very best beach tennis players from across the globe and will seek to build on the huge success of the 2013 Championships, which saw Italian teams triumph in both the men’s and women’s events in front of a capacity crowd of 2,000 fans.

With the ever-growing global popularity of the sport, 21 different nations were represented during the 2013 Championships.

As the number of players entering the World Championship grows, this year will feature an official qualifying event for the first time - to be held on 30-31 July.

Further details relating to these Championships will be posted online on the dedicated ITF Beach Tennis World Championships page.
