In the boys’ ITF World Junior Tennis event, top seeds Lebanon will take on unseeded Turkmenistan after recording straight set victories in their opening two ties. The other semifinal sees second seeds Syria face off against fourth seeds Kazakhstan. Third seeds Philippines will have to settle for a spot in the fifth place play-off after losing to Turkmenistan on day one of the competition. There are two spots available at the Final Qualifying event in New Delhi, India in April, therefore a win at the semifinal stage would secure one a place at Final Qualifying.
Malaysia qualify for the semifinals for the loss of just one rubber in the ITF World Junior Tennis girls’ event. The hosts and top seeds will take on Singapore in the semifinal clash, as the second seeds lost to third seeds Kyrgyzstan in the final round robin match coming second in their group. Kyrgyzstan will go up against Turkmenistan in the other semifinal. As with the boys' event, there are two spots up for grabs in India in girls' event, so a semifinal win would secure a place at the Final qualifying event.
In the Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas the top two seeds are currently cruising through their round robin matches. Both Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka have posted straight set wins in their opening two ties. Top seeds Kazakhstan have dropped just seven games across their six matches. They look to be firm favourites going into the last two days of competition.
