Nigeria crowned Champion of West & Central Africa

With ten countries battling it out for the West & Central African team trophy, Togo and Mali came second and third respectively and were unable to defeat the winners, Nigeria. In the boys 16U Sylvester Emmanuel and Michael Michael played a part in Nigeria’s team victory reaching the final and playing each other in the two tournaments. Christopher Itodo and Michael Osewa Emmanuel contributed to Nigeria’s team points after winning the Boys 16U and 14U respectively.

Nigeria’s domination continued in the girls 16U following the victory of Elizabeth Garos Pam in both tournaments. In the 16U Antoine Gbadoe who finished third helped Togo secure second position I the country rankings and in the 14U Daniel Goudjinou’s performance placed him in the sixth position.

Thanks to the team efforts the Malian Team they finished in third place following Yacouba Maiga’s performance reaching fifth place.

“The tournament was a great success thanks to the local organising team we had a great week of tennis, good luck to the qualifiers in the AJC” said Mohamed Traore, CAT Vice President.
