Two-Star ITF Recognised courts at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre
Four indoor acrylic courts have been awarded Two-Star ITF Recognition at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in London, formally known as Eton Manor. Located in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the venue offers four indoor courts and six outdoor courts.
The Spadeoak installed DecoColor courts were tested against the recommendations contained in the ITF Guide to Test Methods for Tennis Court Surfaces and gained the Two-Star ITF Recognition award which demands the highest quality of installation. The courts in the Tennis Centre have therefore demonstrated that they are of a standard demanded by elite level play. The facility has recently been confirmed to host the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters from 2014 to 2016.
This is Spadeoak’s second facility to obtain Two-Star ITF Recognition, the first being Eton Manor consisting of nine tennis courts which staged the hugely successful 2012 London Paralympics wheelchair tennis event. The DecoColor surface was supplied by California Products Corporation, a company well-established in the court surface industry and a long-standing member of the ITF Foundation.
The four courts at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre have been added to the growing list of ITF Recognised courts situated across Europe. With four laboratories accredited to conduct Two-Star ITF Recognition testing and three assessors approved to conduct One-Star ITF Recognition testing, the programme is set to expand further in 2014.
